The largest hurdle we face in blocking the $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget is people not knowing about it at all. We have only a few months to stop it. With summer here and plenty of opportunities to get outside, hand out flyers, and interact with our community, sharing our Cut the Pentagon poll is an easy way to teach people about the topic while hearing from them what their top concerns are.
Here are some ways to engage your friends, family, and community to stop the Pentagon budget in order from least effort to most effort:
1️⃣ Share the poll on your Instagram story!

2️⃣ After you've filled out the poll, share with others!
Text a friend or family group chat that you filled it out, how you answered and why. Encourage them to fill out the poll to spark the conversation!
-Ex: The Pentagon budget is supposed to be $1.5 trillion next year, which I think is kind of wild. I filled out this poll to say where I'd want that money spent instead, I put "Universal healthcare" -- you all should fill out the poll too!
3️⃣ Print out our Cut the Pentagon flyers!
And put them up in your neighborhood with painters tape or on community notice boards! Print out flyers HERE!
4️⃣ Table or Canvass with our Cut the Pentagon resources!
- Find a place where you can set up a table or canvass (public park, public sidewalk, farmers market, etc)
- Get the materials you need (Cut the Pentagon flyers, Cut the Pentagon stickers) (For tabling, think pink tablecloths, candies to hand out, some interactive experience like writing their answers down on a card and taking a selfie with it)
- Come up with your opening line to engage people passing by! (Ex: Did you know we are going to spend $1.5 trillion on the war budget next year? We are polling people to see what they'd rather spend the money on)
- Let us know how your canvassing/tabling went afterwards and send us photos!
